Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most, answered straight.

Before You Book

If your question is not here, call (813) 438-6315 and ask us directly. We would rather answer it now than have you guess.

How much does pressure washing cost?
Every property is different, so we quote by the job rather than by the hour. Price comes down to square footage, the surface we are cleaning and how much buildup has had time to set in. Estimates are free, the number we give you is the number you pay, and there is no obligation to book. Call (813) 438-6315 or send us the details through our quote form.
Do you need to use my water?
No. We bring our own water. Our trucks arrive with their own supply, so there is no hose hookup at your house and no jump in your water bill. If you would rather we use your spigot, that is fine too, but it is never something we need from you.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No. Plenty of our customers are at work while we are on site. All we need is access to the areas being cleaned, any gates unlocked, and a way to reach you if a question comes up. We will walk the finished job with you if you are home, and send photos if you are not.
What is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Pressure washing uses high pressure and is right for hard surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks and pavers. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution that kills mold, mildew and algae at the root, which is what siding, stucco, soffits, screens and painted surfaces need. Using the wrong one on the wrong surface is how homes get damaged, so we match the method to the material every time.
Will pressure washing damage my paint, screens or landscaping?
Not when it is done correctly. Delicate surfaces get the low-pressure soft wash instead of high pressure, and we pre-wet and rinse plant beds around the work area so nothing sits in cleaning solution. We have seen what a careless crew can do to stucco and window screens, and avoiding that is most of the job.
How long does a typical job take?
Most residential driveways and concrete jobs are done in two to four hours. A full house wash usually runs half a day. Larger properties or heavy mold buildup take longer, and we will tell you up front if that is the case rather than rushing it.
How often should a Florida home be cleaned?
Florida humidity grows mold and algae faster than almost anywhere else. As a rule, siding and roofs do well on a wash every 12 to 18 months, and concrete once a year. North-facing walls and anything shaded by oaks will need it sooner, because those surfaces stay damp and never fully dry out.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Prestige Pressure Washing & Detail is fully licensed and insured, and we are happy to provide proof before we start. We are also veteran owned and operated, and members of the Brandon Riverview Chamber of Commerce.
Do you clean gutters?
Yes. We hand-clear the gutters, flush the downspouts until they run clear, and clean the black streaking off the gutter faces. Details are on our gutter cleaning page.
What areas do you serve?
Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Lithia and FishHawk, Tampa, Seffner and Apollo Beach, plus the rest of Hillsborough County. See our service areas, and if you do not see your neighborhood, call us anyway.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. Veterans receive 20% off and senior citizens receive 15% off, every job, no promo code needed. Just mention it when you book.
What happens if it rains on my scheduled day?
We reschedule at no cost. Light rain is not usually a problem, but a real Florida downpour means we are not going to do our best work, and we would rather move you than hand back a half-finished job.
We bring our own water. Our trucks arrive with their own water supply, so we never have to tap into yours. No hose hookup, no spike on your water bill.
