Gutters That Actually Move Water

Clogged gutters are not a cosmetic problem. Water that cannot get to the downspout runs over the edge, down the stucco, into the soffit and eventually into the ground right against your foundation. In Florida, where a single afternoon storm can drop an inch of rain, a blocked gutter finds every weakness in the exterior of your home.

Hand-clearing

Leaves, pine needles, shingle grit, nests and the packed sludge at the bottom come out by hand and get bagged and carried off. Nothing gets flushed down the downspout to jam somewhere we cannot see it.

Downspout flushing

Every downspout gets flushed and checked at the outlet. If one is blocked solid, we clear it. A clean trough with a plugged downspout is not a finished job.

Gutter face cleaning

The black tiger stripes on the outside of the gutter are shingle runoff bonded to the paint. We lift it with the right solution instead of scrubbing the finish off, and the front of the house immediately looks maintained again.

Clean site when we leave

Debris bagged and hauled, beds rinsed, ladder marks checked. You should not be able to tell we were there except by looking up.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Florida?
Twice a year is the safe answer for most homes here, and more often if you have oaks or pines over the roof. Florida rain comes hard and fast, and a gutter that cannot move water during a summer storm sends it straight over the edge and down the wall.
What is the black streaking on the front of my gutters?
That is often called tiger striping. It is a mix of asphalt shingle runoff, road film and airborne dirt that bonds to the painted gutter face. A garden hose will not touch it. We clean it with a surfactant that lifts the film without stripping the finish.
Do you clean the downspouts too?
Yes. Clearing the trough and leaving a blocked downspout accomplishes nothing. We flush each downspout and confirm it runs clear at the outlet before we call the job finished.
Will you get on my roof?
Only when it is safe and necessary. Most gutter work is done from ladders, which is safer for our crew and easier on your shingles.
